CONTROLS
▷ Do not expose USB storage devices to ex‐
treme environmental conditions, such as very
high temperatures; refer to the owner's
manual of the device.
USB interface
Concept
Mobile devices with a USB port can be con‐
nected to the USB interface.
▷ Due to the many different compression tech‐
niques, proper playback of the media stored
on the USB storage device cannot be guar‐
anteed in all cases.
General information
▷ A connected USB storage device will be sup‐
plied with charge current via the USB inter‐
face if the device supports this. At higher
temperatures, the charge current through the
USB storage device may be reduced.

of mobile devices to the USB interface in the
section on USB connections, refer to page 50.
Overview
▷ To ensure proper transmission of the stored
data, do not charge a USB storage device via
the onboard socket, when it is connected to
the USB interface.
▷ Depending on how the USB storage device is
being used, settings may be required on the
USB storage device, refer to the owner's
manual of the device.
Non-compatible USB media:
▷ USB hard drives.
The USB interface is located between the front
seats.
▷ USB hubs.
▷ USB memory card readers with multiple slots.
▷ HFS-formatted USB storage devices.
▷ Devices such as fans or lamps.
Properties:
▷ USB port Type A.
▷ For charging mobile devices and for data
transfer.
▷ Charge current: max. 1.5 A.

Warning
Connecting an external device
Follow the following when connecting:
▷ Do not use force when plugging the connec‐
tor into the USB interface.
Body parts can be jammed or the tailgate dam‐
aged when operating the tailgate. There is a
risk of injury or risk of damage to property.
Make sure that the area of movement of the
tailgate is clear during opening and closing.
▷ Use a flexible adapter cable.
▷ Protect the USB storage device against me‐
chanical damage.
▷ Due to the large number of USB storage de‐
vices available on the market, it cannot be
guaranteed that every device is operable on
the vehicle.

NOTICE
During driving, high temperatures can occur in
the cargo area. Objects in the cargo area can
heat up. There is a risk of damage to property.
Do not store temperature-sensitive objects in
the cargo area.
Partition in the cargo area
The partition can be removed to transport larger
items.
Raise the cover, arrow 1, and pull it back to re‐
move, arrow 2.
Cargo cover
Installing
Place the cover in the brackets and fold it down.
General information
The cargo cover is located under the tailgate.
The cover can be folded forward or removed to
load bulky luggage.
Safety information
Warning
Loose objects or devices with a cable connec‐
tion to the vehicle, for instance mobile phones,
can be thrown about the car's interior while
driving, for instance in the event of an accident,
braking or evasive maneuver. There is a risk of
injury. Secure loose objects or devices with a
cable connection to the vehicle in the car's in‐
terior.
