To adjust the steering wheel

Manual longitudinal adjustment
1. Pull the lever until it stops.
1. Fold the lever downwards.
2. Move the steering wheel to the preferred
height and angle to suit your seated position.
2. Fold the backrest forwards.
3. Slide the seat forwards.
3. Swing the lever back up.
Memory function
Principle
Manual longitudinal adjustment:
original position
1. Push seat back to the starting position.
The memory function enables the following set‐
tings to be stored and retrieved when required:
2. Fold back backrest to lock the seat.
▷ Seat position.
Electric longitudinal adjustment
▷ Exterior mirror position.
1. Pull the lever until it stops.
Saving
1. Switch on the ignition.
2. Set the desired position.

Press the button. The LED in the
button is illuminated.
4. Press the desired button 1 or 2 while the
LED is illuminated. The LED is extinguished.
2. Fold the backrest forwards.

Recalling
Press the desired button 1 or 2.

Press and hold down the button un‐
til the seat has moved into the de‐
sired position. Releasing stops the move‐
ment.
The saved position is called up automatically.
The operation is halted when you press a seat
adjustment switch or one of the memory but‐
tons.
▷
Press the button briefly. Seat auto‐
matically moves into the end posi‐
tion. Pressing again stops the movement.
Once underway, adjustment of the seat position
on the driver's side is disabled after a short while.

1. Move seat in original position:

nal position. Releasing stops the move‐
ment.

Press the button briefly. The seat

Telephony
"Start route guidance"
Accepting a call
Incoming calls can be accepted using the iDrive
or using the button on the steering wheel.
If only the town/city was entered: route guidance
to the town/city centre is started.
Connecting mobile telephone
Via iDrive
Once the mobile telephone has been connected
in the vehicle, it can be operated using the iDrive,
the buttons on the steering wheel and by voice
control.
"Accept"
Via button on the steering wheel
Press the button.

2. "iDrive settings"
3. "Mobile devices"
4. "Connect new device"
Via instrument cluster
Select using the knurled wheel on the steering
wheel: "Accept"
5. Select functions for which you would like to
use the mobile telephone.
Dialling a number
1. "Communication"
2. "Dial number"
The Bluetooth name of the vehicle is dis‐
played in the Control Display.
6. To perform other operations on the mobile
telephone; see the user manual of the mobile
telephone: for example finding/connecting
Bluetooth device or new device.
3. Enter the numbers.

Select the symbol. The call is made using
the mobile telephone assigned to the tele‐
phone function.
The Bluetooth name of the vehicle is shown
on the display of the mobile telephone. Se‐
lect the Bluetooth name of the vehicle.
To make a call via the additional telephone:
1. Press the button.
7. Depending on the mobile device, either a
control number is displayed, or you will have
to enter the control number yourself.

Apple CarPlay preparation
Principle
▷ Compare the control number shown on
the Control Display with the control num‐
ber in the device display.
CarPlay makes it possible to operate certain
functions of a compatible Apple iPhone by Siri
voice operation and using iDrive.
Confirm the control number in the device
and on the Control Display.
▷ Enter the same control number on the de‐
vice and via iDrive then confirm.
Operating requirements
▷ Compatible iPhone.
The device is connected and displayed in the
device list.
iPhone 5 or later with iOS 7.1 or later.
▷ Corresponding mobile radio contract.
▷ Bluetooth, WiFi and Siri voice operation are
activated on the iPhone.
