General settings
Setting the time
Via iDrive:
Vehicle equipment
This chapter describes all standard, country-spe‐
cific and optional equipment available for the
model series. It may therefore describe equip‐
ment and functions which are not installed in
your vehicle, for example on account of the spe‐
cial equipment selected or the country specifica‐
tion. This also applies to safety-relevant func‐
tions and systems. Please comply with the
relevant laws and regulations when using the
corresponding functions and systems.

Automatic time setting
Time
Depending on the equipment, the time, date and,
if necessary, time zone are updated automati‐
cally.

Principle
If vehicle tracking is activated, the current vehicle
position can be displayed in the BMW Connec‐
ted app or in the ConnectedDrive customer por‐
tal.
5. Turn the Controller until the desired day is
displayed.

these information windows can be activated or
deactivated.
Selecting the units of
measurement
Via iDrive:
Depending on the country specifications, it is
possible to select the units of measurement for
various values, for example consumption, distan‐
ces and temperature.

ness is obtained.

Depending on the lighting conditions, the bright‐
ness adjustment may not be immediately appa‐
rent.
The menu in which the notification is displayed is
opened.
Deleting notifications
All notifications which are not Check Control
messages or messages from the vehicle manu‐
facturer can be deleted from the list.
Selecting the content of the main
menu
The content displayed in some menu items of
the main menu can be selected.
Check Control messages or messages from the
vehicle manufacturer remain for as long as they
are relevant.

Principle
The menu shows all messages received by the
vehicle, centrally in the form of a list.

The following settings can be performed:
▷ Selection of applications from which mes‐
sages are permitted.

The following messages can be displayed:
▷ Sorting of sequence of messages by date or
priority.
▷ Traffic messages.
▷ Communication messages, for example e-
mail, SMS or reminders.
