Seat Adjustments

FRONT SEAT
To adjust the front or rear seat
To change the seat-back angle of the
forward and backward, pull up on the front seat, pull up on the lever on the

Driver’s Seat Height Adjustment
Armrests
REAR SEAT
To change the angle of the rear seat-
back, pull up on the release lever on
the outside of the seat-back.
The height of the driver’s seat is
adjustable. Turn the dial on the
outside of the seat cushion.
The rear seat armrest is in the
center of the rear seat. Pivot it down
to use it.
When using the center seating
position, adjust the left and right side
of the rear seats to the same position.
Only on vehicles with an automatic
transmission
Each front seat has an armrest on
the side of the seat-back. To use it,
pivot it down.
Make sure all rear shoulder belts are
positioned in front of the rear seat-
backs after you adjust the rear seats.

Head Restraints
See page 13 for important safety

properly position the head restraints.
Your vehicle is equipped with head
restraints in all seating positions to
help protect you and your
passengers from whiplash and other
injuries.
They are most effective when you
adjust them so the back of the
occupant’s head rests against the
center of the restraint.

Reclining the Front Seats

Folding the Rear Seats Down
The rear seat-back can be folded
down to give more cargo room. Each
side folds down separately, so you
can still carry a passenger in the rear
seat.
You can also fold up each of the rear
seats separately to create further
cargo space (see page 83 ).

When you are folding the right half
of the rear seat, use the key to
release the center seat belt from the
detachable anchor (see page 85 ).
Allow the seat belt to retract into the
holder on the ceiling and store the
buckles in it.
2. Lower the head restraint to its
lowest position.
3. Pull up on the release lever on the
outside of the seat-back.
4. Fold the seat-back forward.
Do not put any heavy items on the
seat-back when it is folded.

Reverse this procedure to return the
seat-back to the upright position.
Make sure the seat is secured and
the seat belt in front of the seat-back
before driving.
Folding the Rear Seat Up

To fold up the rear seat:

pulling the lock release strap
under the seat cushion’s back
edge, then lift the rear of the seat.
You cannot fold up the rear seat if
it is not latched securely in the
rearmost position.

anchor is latched securely before

front seat forward slightly, then
attach the anchor on the fastening
strap to the hook on the bottom of
the front seat. Adjust the front
seat to the desired position.
Make sure that the folded up rear
seat does not interfere with the front
passenger’s seat-back. This will
cause the front passenger’s weight
sensors to work improperly (see
page 25 ). Also check the passenger
airbag off indicator to assure proper
operation of the passenger’s
advanced front airbag.
