Charging the vehicle  
MOBILITY  
instrument cluster, if standby state is switched  
on.  
Stopping the charging process  
The charging process can be stopped at any  
time by removing the charging cable and con-  
tinued at a later time by connecting the charg-  
ing cable. For example, so that other people  
can use the electrical connection in the mean-  
time, or in order to avoid excessive strain on  
the electrical connection.  
Information regarding the charging process is  
shown on the charging screen.  
Display Meaning  
Charging the vehicle with a Mode 2  
charging cable or Mode 3 charging  
cable.  
Additional information:  
Charging the vehicle with a DC  
charging cable.  
Detach, refer to page 320.  
Continuing the charging process  
Current charging capacity.  
If the charging process is interrupted, for in-  
stance due to a temporary power failure, the  
charging process will continue automatically  
after the interruption.  
Icon indicates that the maximum  
charging capacity of the vehicle has  
been reached.  
When the vehicle is charged at a public charg-  
ing station, the charging process may not con-  
tinue automatically after an interruption.  
Maximum charging current strength  
or currently set current limit.  
Charging cable locked.  
Charging cable unlocked.  
Set charge target.  
Ending the charging process  
1. Remove the charging cable from the vehi-  
cle.  
Detach, refer to page 320.  
2. Stow the charging cable as required.  
3. Press the charging socket flap closed until it  
engages.  
Departure time set.  
4. Lock vehicle if it is unlocked.  
Goodbye screen on control display  
One-time departure time set.  
When drive-ready state is switched off, a menu  
is shown on the control display, in which,  
among other things, some settings can be ap-  
plied for charging via iDrive.  
Climate control activated at depar-  
ture time.  
Flashing: ventilation or cooling ac-  
tive.  
Displays in the instrument

Flashing: heating active.  
The charge state indicator light shows the  
charge state of the high-voltage battery in the

Setting the departure time

The shaded area indicates a limitation in the  
charging capacity that can occur, for instance  
due to the connected charging infrastructure.

The set departure time will be deactivated if  
the departure time was ignored three times in  
a row.

Principle  
For optimum range and climate control, the  
departure time can be set before parking the  
vehicle.  
Climate control  
The following settings for vehicle air condition-  
ing are possible:  
General information  
With a set departure time, the vehicle is pre-  
heated or precooled if climate control is set.  
Activate stationary climate control immedi-  
ately.
