This chapter describes all standard, country-spe‐  
cific and optional features offered with the series.  
It also describes features that are not necessarily  
available in your vehicle, e. g., due to the selected  
options or country versions. This also applies to  
safety-related functions and systems. When us‐  
ing these functions and systems, the applicable  
laws and regulations must be observed.

Safety information  
Glove compartment  
WARNING  
Loose objects or devices with a cable connec‐  
tion to the vehicle, for instance mobile phones,  
can be thrown into the car's interior while driv‐  
ing, for instance in the event of an accident or  
during braking and evasive maneuvers. There is  
a risk of injury. Secure loose objects or devices  
with a cable connection to the vehicle in the  
car's interior.  
Front passenger side  
Safety information  
WARNING  
Folded open, the glove compartment protrudes  
in the car's interior. Objects in the glove com‐  
partment can be thrown into the car's interior  
while driving, for instance in the event of an ac‐  
cident or during braking and evasive maneu‐  
vers. There is a risk of injury. Always close the  
glove compartment immediately after using it.  
NOTE  
Anti-slip pads such as anti-slip mats can dam‐  
age the dashboard. There is a risk of damage to  
property. Do not use anti-slip pads.

Locking  
The glove compartment can be locked with an  
integrated key to separately secure the tailgate,  
refer to page 79, for instance.  
This prevents access to the glove compartment  
and to the cargo area.  
After the glove compartment is locked, the re‐  
mote control can be handed over, such as at a  
hotel, without the integrated key.  
There is a storage compartment in the center  
console.

not use any breakable objects while driving.  
Only stow breakable objects in closed storage  
compartments.

There is a storage compartment between the  
rear seats.  
General information  
A storage compartment is located in the center  
armrest between the front seats.  
Cup holders  
Safety information  
WARNING  
Opening  
Unsuitable containers in the cup holder and hot  
beverages can damage the cup holder and in‐  
crease the risk of injury in the event of an acci‐  
dent. There is a risk of injury or risk of damage  
to property. Use light-weight, unbreakable, and  
sealable containers. Do not transport hot bever‐  
ages. Do not force objects into the cup holder.  
Fold the center armrest up.  
Repositioning  
The center armrest can be pushed forward or  
backward and engages in the end positions.  
Front  
Connection for an external audio  
device  
An external audio device, for instance an MP3  
player, can be connected via the USB audio in‐  
terface in the center armrest.  
Two cup holders are located in the center con‐  
sole.

the rear  
To open: slide the cover forward.  
To close: slide the cover backward.  
A storage compartment is located in the center  
console.

With an open cup holder, the center armrest  
cannot be folded back up. There is a risk of  
damage to property. Press back the covers be‐  
fore the center armrest is folded up.

Pull the center armrest forward at the strap.

Small objects can be stowed in the net on the  
left side.  
Clothing articles on the clothes hooks can ob‐  
struct the view while driving. There is a risk of  
an accident. When suspending clothing articles  
from the clothes hooks, ensure that they will  
not obstruct the driver's view.  
Multi-function hook

Lashing eyes in the cargo area  
To secure the cargo, refer to page 231, there  
are four lashing eyes in the cargo area.  
Floor net  
To secure the cargo, refer to page 231, the floor  
net can also be used.  
Storage compartment under the  
cargo floor panel  
For the storage compartment under the cargo  
floor panel, do not exceed a maximum load of  
44 lbs/20 kg.  
Raise the cargo floor panel, arrow 1, and latch at  
top, if needed, arrow 2.
